ANIMAL FARM BY GEORGE ORWELL
Eric Arthur Blair more commonly known by the pen name George Orwell, is an English novelist and journalist( Wikipedia, George Orwell, 2013). Orwell wrote literary criticism, articles, poetries and fictions. He has been known to make political writings into a work of art (Grolier Incorporated, George Orwell, 2013).One of his signature novels is Animal Farm which is a fiction written in the early 1940s to reflect historical events related to the Russian Revolution in 1917, its aftermath and the life in Russia under Joseph Stalin's ruling(The Literature Network, Animal Farm,2007).
This website is built for secondary students to learn about the Russian Revolution and the historic figures related to the event through Orwell's literature. On this website, related topics are being looked at in depth. For instance, there are pages about Vladimir Lenin, Joseph Stalin and the October Revolution. Furthermore, the website shows how propaganda techniques were being utilized and how the novel Animal Farm is an allegory of the Russian Revolution.
